About Kathryn

 

Kathryn is passionate about woodworking and history. Informed first as an anthropologist, Kathryn treats the trade with a blend of artistic academia and practical woodworking. Kathryn informs all restoration work with the ethics of conservation and celebrates intersectional approaches to woodworking and the study of furniture history.

Kathryn is a Fine Woodworking contributor: find that writing here. They are a guest instructor at the Austin School of Furniture as well as the American School of French Marquetry.

Kathryn is a 2024 Research Fellow at Winterthur Museum & Library, as well as a member of the Furniture History Society and an Associate Member of the American Institute for Conservation.
